Vinegar disease strikes one million!
‘Vinegar disease’ or the deterioration of The Advocate’s photographic collection of approx. one million negatives has been detected. The negatives are decaying, and the risk of losing a significant part of our region’s history is imminent. The Advocate Gift will be given to the Burnie Regional Museum to be placed into the newly-built world-standard archival freezer store. This will stop the vinegar disease in its tracks, preserving the collection for the future!
