I am, Dr. Jayaweerage Samantha, Founder of the "Nalanda Keerthi Sri Award Festival". As the Media Secretary of the Nalanda College Old Scouts' Association (2003--2004), I was proposed to the committee about my new project "Nalanda Keerthi Sri Award Festival" and organized the first "Nalanda Keerthi Sri Award Festival" as a chief organizer on the 27th September 2003 (A pioneer project by Nalanda College Old Scouts' Association).

The "Nalanda Keerthi Sri” is an award aimed at felicitating and recognizing alumni of Nalanda College Colombo who have excelled in their respective field of expertise or profession and thereby contribute to the legacy of Nalanda College, Colombo, Sri Lanka and enhancing the morale of its students.

Following are the "Nalanda Keerthi Sri" award recipients:
[1] Kala Keerthi Henry Jayasena -- (Actor in cinema, drama, tv/ director-cinema & drama / script writer etc.)
[2] His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa - (Hon. President of Sri Lanka)
[3] Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara - (Hon. Diyawadana Nilame the chief person of Tooth Relic Temple Kandy)
[4] Dr. Sarath Gunapala - (One of the Directors at NASA, USA)
[5] Dr. Chandana Jayarathne - (Principle, Research Scientist - Space Science at Arthur C. Clarke Institute & Senior Physics Lecture)
[6] Most Venerable Kuppiyawatte Bodhananda Thera - (Founder - Mithuru Mithuro Movement)
[7] Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekara - (A prominent Sinhala writer, poet, and essayist, graduate of University of Ceylon and a Dental Surgeon by profession.) on the 21st Oct. 2010.
[8] Prof. Pathmajeewa Ganepola – Professor of Medicine attached to Columbia University New York City, USA (2011)
[9] Prof. K.N.O. Dharmadasa - Emeritus Professor of University of Peradeniya and Chief Editor of Sinhala Encyclopedia (2013)
